The United Nations General Assembly, in its resolution 60/251, mandated the Human Rights Council to "undertake a universal periodic review, based on objective and reliable information, of the fulfilment by each State of its human rights obligations and commitments in a manner which ensures universality of coverage and equal treatment with respect to all States." The Netherlands' UPR will take place during the first UPR session, on April 15. Directly after the UPR session of the Netherlands, NJCM and JP will organize a panel discussion, focusing on NGO participation and the implementation of recommendations in the Netherlands.
